Why start a blog in 2023? To be honest, it's a valid and hard to answer question. The key reason for me is that it exercises my brain in ways that I would not otherwise use it outside of work. Between watching YouTube videos of progressively less substance and constantly viewing different social media outlets with meaningless updates (and ads), it's nice to actually take a step back and write things in an old-fashioned manner.


What is my goal for the blog? I want a place to periodically post. My posts will range from garage updates including maintenance items and modifications, to upcoming road trips, to thoughts on automotive trends/information, and general information that I feel is worth sharing.


What are my interests? Automotive. I enjoy it all, truly. I have owned 20 cars of various different manufacturers, 2 scooters, a boat, and a jet ski (I don't quite count it as a boat, but could see an argument for it). I service each of my current 4 cars, enjoy them for what they are (off-road, road trips, and spirited mountain driving), and just enjoy following the market.


What do I currently have in my garage? There's an old saying that at any time everything is for sale for the right amount. My garage is no exception to that rule and can be referenced here in my current garage.

LX570 Maintenance How-To - Radiator & Associated Items

April 14, 2023 A couple of days ago, I made a post showing the failure point of the early stock 200 Series Land Cruiser (or LX570 like mine) radiator and the other parts/components (with part numbers) that I intend to replace while doing it. My LX570 is at 150K miles on the dot at the time of doing this maintenance. I was able to find several videos about replacing the radiator, but some of the other maintenance items that I was trying to tackle (specifically the fan assembly bracket) were pretty hard to find information on. Revival of the Land Cruiser & Shifting the 4Runner to its Origins?

June 30, 2023 Death & Resurrection of the North American Land Cruiser The Toyota Land Cruiser is one of the most recognized and reliable vehicles ever produced. From the FJ20 series produced in the 1950's to the now modern 300 series, each edition has served as the industry bar in terms of reliability on a global scale. For example FJ70's are still for sale in Australia (designed in the 1970's), 80-Series are still heavily used as a desired off-road rig due to its solid front axle design, and the 100-Series is a million mile mall-crawling machine. So in 2021 when Toyota killed the Land Cruiser for the 300 series for the North American market (excluding the LX600), North American consumers (including myself) were not happy.
